Location
Peoples Global Exchange or PGX is a resounce center and guesthouse located in Quezon City on Kalayaan. It's a lively area with a lot of bars and restaurants.
Surrounding area
- On the corner of the street is a big SM supermarket.
- Across the street there is a laundry facility where you can get your clothes washed for 27 pesos a kilo. You can bring your laundry and pick it up clean the day after.
- Across the street is an ice cream salon where you can get the famous coconut ice cream for about 20 pesos.
- The LRT station Anonas is a 20-minute walk from PGX. You can also take the jeepney for 8 pesos to st. Joseph and walk 3 minutes to Anonas station.
The place
The Peoples' Global Exchange (PGX) is a resource and service center that promotes international partnership for development and people’s empowerment through people’s exchange. PGX works alongside people’s organizations and social movements in building channels for international cooperation and solidarity. Its programs include exchange visits, development education, information sharing, dialogues and joint projects. Also, PGX's Alternative Trading Program "Fairmark" assists in the promotion and marketing of indigenous products of tribes, communities, as well as other peripheral groups and people’s organizations.
The rooms
In PGX there are several rooms that are used for the guesthouse. The rooms are nicely furnished with beds and desks and have a very cozy look. There are sheets and towels available and there is a possibility to use the kitchen and refrigerator.
The services
PGX also has a restaurant: ‘TriMona’. You can eat fair-trade and vegetarian delicious food here. There is a lot of choice between different meals and the price is not too high. Continental breakfast is 75 pesos and you can have lunch and dinner for prices between 75-150 pesos. The restaurant has wifi. Be aware that the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
