WIN Foundation is a US-based non-profit organization that started in the Philippines in 2003 upon recognition that the country’s incredible biodiversity is at risk from massive environmental devastation and human impact. The headquarters is located in the protected forest of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) which is also a home to the wildlife rescue center and animal care clinic. This organization focuses on pet trade, rescue and rehabilitation of terrestrial and marine animals, public education on environmental issues and improving the care and welfare of domestic and companion animals.
WIN’s mission is to ensure the welfare of individual animals and contribute to the conservation of threatened species through wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, habitat protection, public education and professional training.
As a non-profit organization, WIN relies on fundraising activities, grants, and the generosity of supporters to operate. WIN also relies on help and expertise of interns and volunteers from various backgrounds. The challenge is to find creative ways to implement our projects and to raise funds, including providing the manpower and resources to respond to and care for rescued animals on an ongoing basis. We can never predict when an animal needs rescuing, how many or in what circumstances. Therefore, the Rescue Center operates 7 days a week. In some case, very sick animals need round the clock care.
